To be honest this reddit overwatch forums infinite scrolling is bad, i know they try their best into making it so it only uses the ram you're actively watching but still its going to consume a lot, i like the simpler compact way of the forums as of now. There's also a mini scroll bar that allows you to go faster down the page. It starts off with about 15-20 responses like a normal forum page and then as you scroll down it automatically adds more, when you get close to the bottom of the page. It's not so much infinite scrolling where the page has every single reply at once. #DeleteTheForums Comment by Yuthirin on T22:37:20-06:00Ībout damn time. The Warcraft 3 forum has also the new system, since they announced the Reforged version. This post has 16.8k replies and I didn't have any issues with the page loading. If you want to checkout the new system just look at the Overwatch forums. What if we find a really good comment and want to save it for future reference, can we not do that?Īnd couldn't they have done this without killing the old forums? Comment by Kanvi on T20:38:33-06:00Īnd couldn't they have done this without killing the old forums? Infinite scroll? Jesus, how the hell are we supposed to deal with threads that regularly cap? Who cares if it tracks where you left off if it takes five years to load the thread? Personally like how slim and compact Wowheads design is, which is kind of the opposite of the new WoW forums, though the new Wow forums have notifications and some useful features.Įven in a Discord world, I do think forums still have their place for longform focused discussions Comment by kaleestraza on T20:33:10-06:00 That reminded me that Wowhead still has forums. Knowing Blizzard and the way our modern society is working, i'm willing to bet #2 is more likely. People who make constructive and respectful feedback, or people who who don't provide any feedback and smugly dismiss any criticism or flaw Blizzard or their games could possibly have, if you have a problem you're just a "toxic gamer." Now I guess we'll wait and see what constitutes "good behavior" in Blizzards eyes. Comment by VindicatorElinra on T19:48:09-06:00 now we just need a communication channel so Blizzard can understand what the player base is saying ) Comment by Isaemarod on T19:46:30-06:00 I think Blizzard improving communications between players and community mods is great. At first I was a little sceptical but looking through the processes they seem quite reasonable. Trust levels for those following the rules and more. The new forums also come with more advanced functionality for spam post filtering. The “report post” feature has been upgraded to a flagging system with multiple options. You can now enable notifications for when you are tagged in posts and replies. You can now sort posts by “Top” or “Latest” with configurable timeframes.Ě new “Advanced Search” feature will make looking for older posts easier. The forums will also remember what you’ve read and where you left off!.Threads now infinitely scroll – no more navigating page by page.Threads now update in real time without needing to refresh. You can now easily find threads that you’ve previously viewed. The Blizz Tracker has returned to help you quickly find official posts. Here’s a few of the new features we’re excited about: Once maintenance is complete, the old forums will remain available in read-only mode for the foreseeable future, so you’ll be able to easily reference back to anything that wasn’t automatically transferred to the new forums. Note: We will be migrating over any active threads from the last two weeks to allow ongoing community discussions to continue as seamlessly as possible. We estimate this process should take approximately 8 hours. This Thursday, November 15, the current World of Warcraft forums will be going into maintenance starting at 8 AM Pacific. We are now ready for World of Warcraft to transition to these new forums. These new forums allow you to more easily navigate current topics, encourage more constructive discussions, and reward positive contributions to the community. As some of you may know, over the last several months we've been implementing new forums for a few of our titles, including Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm, as well as BlizzCon.
